Obituary
Brenda Denise Jones Robinson was born on January 15, 1955, to Juanita Sanders Luster and Pledge Burrell. She was affectionately raised and adopted by Willie and Celia Jones.
Brenda confessed her life to Christ at an early age at the New Bethlehem Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor J. F. Steele. She served as a member of the Sanctuary Choir and Usher Board. She loved the Lord and learning the word of God.
Brenda was educated in the Bessemer City school system and graduated from Jess Lanier High School. She was employed with the UAB Police Department for 25 years until retirement.
She was well-known and loved by many. She will be remembered for her affectionate smile and compassion.
Brenda was a loving and supportive mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.
On August 24, 2025, her cycle of life came to a peaceful eternal rest. Her memories will be cherished by her son, James Robinson; granddaughter, Jordan Robinson; grandson, Sema’j Robinson; mother, Juanita Luster; sisters, Linda Taylor (Ollie) and Anita L. Long (Johnny); brothers, Ricky Luster (Jennifer), Willie Luster (Deborah), and Windfred Luster; special cousins, Patricia H. Today, we remember Bunchie — not just with tears, but with gratitude. Bunchie wasn’t just a friend or a family member; Bunchie was a light. The kind of soul who brought warmth into every room, laughter into heavy moments, and love that lingered long after the day was done.
Though Bunchie is no longer with us in body, her spirit remains in every story we share, every lesson we carry, and every act of kindness we offer to others. Her legacy lives on through the joy she gave and the strength she inspired in all of us.
In our moments of sorrow, let us also be reminded of the way Bunchie lived — fully, fearlessly, and with deep compassion. Let that be our compass going forward: to live a life that uplifts, to love without holding back, and to be the kind of light Bunchie always was.
We miss you dearly, Bunchie. And we will honor your memory by continuing to carry your light in this world. Hugs and love! Zan

My classmate from Abrams elementary to Jess Lanier high school class of 1973. We faced racism and uncertainty being the first to be in an experiment. Mingling black and white students together.
Even though we went through hardships, we made it.
We also went to the same church. New Bethlehem Baptist Church in Bessemer Ala under Rev Steel.
Sleep my sister. We will see you soon.??
