Obituary

The Life, Love, and Legacy of
Elenor Hall White
 
Ms. Elenor Hall White was born October 23, 1943, in
Chicago, Illinois, to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lewis and Earlie B. Hall.
 
She was educated in the Birmingham school system and was a May 1961 graduate of Western-Olin High School. She was baptized by the late Dr. C.J. McNear and was a lifetime member of Twenty-Third Street Baptist Church of Ensley. She was a dedicated servant of God and her fellow man. She served as a Sunday school teacher, in the music ministry, as matron in the missionary department, was executive secretary of the Peace Baptist District Missionary Association, assistant councilor of the matrons, and as secretary of Congress Christian Education and many other entities of the district. She was the assistant to the President of the Northwest District State Convention Women Auxiliary and executive secretary of the Alabama Baptist State Congress of Christian Education. She served as chairman of the Social Committee for the Women’s President of the Alabama State Missionary Baptist Women’s Auxiliary and the Finance Committee. She also served on the registration committee of the National Baptist Convention Inc. for many years. She was involved in the National Baptist Convention USA Inc. Women’s Auxiliary. She was involved in community service which included Central Pratt Neighborhood Association etc. She had a love for education which involved providing scholarships for high school seniors at P.D. Jackson Olin High School. She served as President and many other roles in the National and Local Western Jackson-Olin Alumni Association. 
 
Elenor loved life and gatherings with her family and friends. She retired from AT&T after working 37 years. After retiring she volunteered at the P.D. Jackson-Olin High School. She was later gainfully employed with the Birmingham City School System as the Attendance Secretary. She answered the call to her heavenly home on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at 3:00 a.m. at UAB Palliative Care surrounded by her daughter.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; daughters, Wanda Hampton and Ligaya
Hampton; two brothers, Robert Hall, Jr., and Charles Hall; and sister, Barbara Hall-Gee.
 
Fond memories will be forever cherished by: loving daughter, Dionne Eatman; her one and only
favorite grandson, Raymone Hampton, Sr.; her one and only favorite granddaughter, Ligaya Eatman; three great-grandchildren, Mikhaila, Raymone Jr., and Micah; two brothers, Henry (Sandra) Hall and Jeffery (Phillis) Dickinson; sisters, Angela Hall, Constance (Samuel) Reid, Hattie French, Andrea Horton, Debra Dix, Irene Chamblin, and Linda Nelson; nieces, Ondina Hall, Shanequa (Ryan) Madison, Dr. LeAndria (Dante’) Wells, Carla Howard, Tamesha Marable, and Tammy Hall; nephew, Andrew Howard; great-nieces, Tiffany (Dan) Seals and Kalaine Aseme; great-nephews, Jarvus Hall, Jonathan Hall, Ryan Madison II, Terrell Seals, DeVante’ Wells, Davin Wells, D’ante Seals, Domanic Moore, and Christopher Moore; special friend, Glenn Thomas; bonus daughter, Glenda S. Thomas; extended family, Michael Cashaw, Jr.; and a host of other relatives and friends,as well as her Twenty-Third Street Family.
