Cassandra L. Henton

10-15-1969 - 08-04-2024

Obituary

Cassandra L. Henton, affectionately known as San, was born in Birmingham, Alabama, to proud parents Bobbie Jean and Charles A. Finley, on October 15, 1969. She was the oldest of three sisters and junior to a cousin, Geneva Hamby, that her mother raised as her own, as a single parent.

After attending and graduating Woodlawn High School in 1987, Cassandra fell in love with and married Willie Earl Henton, Jr., who proudly served in the United States Army. Service life was often challenging. Nonetheless, the two worked together to make service life an enjoyable and beneficial experience. In doing so, the Henton’s had two strong, healthy boys, Darius and Raeshon, who grew to be respectable, hard-working family men in their own right. San and Earl experienced a parting of the ways after 25 years of marriage. Nonetheless, the two happily, and proudly, shared the experience of being loving and giving grandparents.

San is survived by son, Darius Earl Henton, who serves in the United States Navy, with his wife LaKeia; son Darius Jr.; daughter, Zoey; and a beautiful baby to be, Raeshon Travez Henton, works security and is an event center manager, with his betrothed Jewell and their son, Raeshon Jr.; younger sister, LaShunda Miller; husband, Edmond; and their sons, Robert and Joshua; youngest sister, LaQuida Holder; husband, Anthony; son, Anthony Jr.; son, Deontay; son, Desmond; son, Joseph; and daughter, Ar’Kia; Geneva Hamby’s son, “nephew” L.V. Hamby III; best and closest friend, Tamia Jordan; a host of cousins and friends who love her dearly; and lastly her friend and significant other, Vincent Lee.
