Obituary
Mr. Alonzo Gaines was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard and Freddie Mae Gaines on September 6, 1946, in Birmingham, AL.
He had one son who preceded him in death, Mr. Alonzo Gaines, Jr.
He departed his life on February 18, 2024.
He confessed Christ at an early age and joined Mount Calvary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend Washington.
In 1986, he was united in marriage to Ms. Ann Hooper, and they shared thirty eight years together. He was a loving and caring man, great father, and provider for his wife until God called him home.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Ann Gaines; one son, Terrence (Jacqueline) Gaines; three daughters, Melaine Gaines, Jean Simmons, and Stephaine Love; one brother, Kaven L. Gaines; four sisters-in-law, Gloria Gaines, Kathy Thompson, Lula Wood, and Sara Smith; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends, including a very
special friend, Tony.
